Road Bike Avoriaz Pass

A mythical pass of the Tour de France!

Mythical climb, taken officially for the first time during the Tour de France 1975. The record time still belongs to Bernard Hinault, who made this in 33 minutes. Every summer, the Morzine-Avoriaz Cycling Club organises a timed race on this course in early August. More than 150 participants take part each year around the 19 bends of this timed climb.

Alternative: Joux Verte pass

Climb up the Joux Verte pass (Lake Montriond, Les Lindarets), a picturesque and shaded road in the middle of the forest (15 km, average slope 6%, max 11%). Crossing Lindarets, the “village of goats” deserves a stop.
